Rebecca - Medical Affairs Manager
"After attaining my medical degree from the University of Bristol I worked as a doctor in the NHS in several different clinical specialities, including A&E, Anaesthetics and Pathology. I had always been interested in Drug Development so I decided to apply for a Pharmaceutical Physician role in 2006. My first role in industry was with Ferring Pharmaceuticals as a Medical Advisor & Clinical Research Physician covering the following therapeutic areas: Oncology, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Obstetrics, Women's and Men's Health.
I spent nearly 5 years at Ferring before taking a Senior Medical Advisor post at Bayer where I was responsible for products in the Men's Health and Cardiology areas. Whilst at Bayer I moved into the Head of Medical Advisory position for Women's Health and then my last role before joining Alliance was in Melbourne, Australia as Associate Medical Director for bioCSL.
I initially started at Alliance on a contract basis in August 2014 and became a permanent member of the team in January 2015. Even though I have worked in various roles in the industry over many years I have been able to learn such a lot in a short space of time at Alliance. The company has such a diverse portfolio which means every day is different and my role offers different and interesting challenges.
I really enjoy working at Alliance as it is such a friendly and open environment. I work with colleagues across the business on different projects and the sense of teamwork here is great. The diverse portfolio makes everyday hugely variable."
