JOB TITLE: Brand Manager
DEPARTMENT: Commercial UK and ROI – Prescription Products
REPORTING TO: Marketing Manager UK & ROI
LOCATION: UK Head Office, Chippenham
Purpose:
The role is required to manage ‘the brands’ in the UK & ROI team and work as part of a busy, dedicated team primarily focused on the UK market though with secondary responsibility for the Republic of Ireland. The Brand Manager will specifically manage ‘the brands’, driving growth and success through direct and in-direct promotional activities, NPD and business development, and market vigilance.
The key responsibilities of the Brand Manager are:
Marketing & Strategy
- Develop a brand marketing strategy for ‘the brands’ by collating data from multiple sources and turning insights into actionable strategies. Work with both creative and sales agencies to develop executions across relevant touchpoints including ATL (consumer & HCP promotion) and BTL (retailer and trade promotion, including distribution) and implement key tactical activities within the framework of a brand plan.
- Work closely with Field Sales team to develop and deliver effective HCP Activation strategy, including KOL targeting and development.
- Advise on appropriate pricing strategies and promotions to drive maximum value for ‘the brands’ via key financial analysis (ROI / price sensitivity, break-even etc.).
- Monitoring of market trends and competitor intelligence gathering. Market Data analysis. Commissioning and evaluating market research; monitoring trends and advising strategy. Identifying insights and forming hypothesis to drive business performance.
- Identification of and management of NPD projects and opportunities and supporting corporate development projects where appropriate.
- Management of operational relationships with internal parties to ensure successful delivery of projects. Assist the wider consumer team as and when required. Represent ‘the brands’ at external stakeholder meetings including those with potential customers, distributors or agencies/partners.
Compliance
- Appreciation of the importance of and compliance with legal and regulatory codes and frameworks (ASA, PAGB, APBI etc) and internal SOPs.
The successful Brand Manager will have:
- A degree in Business Management or Marketing
- An understanding of PAGB code
- CIM or other marketing qualification
- Previous experience in a Consumer or Rx brand management role
- Experience of OTG or FMCG industry
- Previous experience within the Consumer Health Category
- Strong Commercial acumen with experience of P&L management and forecasting
- Demonstrable passion for understanding consumers and building brands
- The ability to think strategically, ask thoughtful questions and make informed decisions
- Experience in developing annual brand plans through to execution
- Analytical ability to interrogate data and turn insight into action
- Ability to manage several concurrent projects and competing demands to tight time frames
- Comfortable working autonomously and as part of a wider cross functional team
- Preferably line management experience
- An interest in digital marketing
- Previous Medical Device marketing experience
